“Our new catalog is a full-color publication, packed with detailed varietal and marketing information. We really concentrated on our images this year, to give the customer an accurate view of new items they may not be familiar with. The pictures are bigger this year, too," said John Friel, Emerald Coast Growers’ marketing manager.

The 2010-11 catalog features many large photos of Emerald Coast Growers’ vast offering of perennials, specialty plants, and the industry’s largest selection of ornamental grasses. For increased selling power the company offers picture tags for all plants plus pre-designed point-of-purchase cards for many popular varieties.

The book includes details on plants in special programs like Athens Select™, Southern Living™ Plant Collection, and Emerald Coast Growers’ own Native Wonders™, a collection of North American native grasses and perennials carefully selected for true garden merit and ornamental appeal. There are also informative lists of plants grouped by specific uses like light requirements and heat and humidity tolerance.

Among the newest varieties in Emerald Coast Growers’ selection are in-demand ornamental grasses like Pennisetum Skyrocket ('Ricky's Rocket' PPAF), a sport of the fabulously popular 'Fireworks', and the skyscraping but manageable Miscanthus xgiganteus.

In the perennial line, Emerald Coast is especially excited about a new partnership with internationally-known breeder Terra Nova Nurseries. There are seven Terra Nova varieties in five genera, like Ajuga 'Sparkler' and Penstemon 'Dark Towers'.
